Payments
tance
For operators who run physical venues in Japan and need a POS-integrated payment terminal natively tied to their pass-based guest flow. tance is available on the PREMIUM plan with dedicated onboarding.
What tance does with Kinchaku
- JP-market card acceptance through a payment terminal integrated with your in-venue POS
- Settlement into standard Japanese banking workflows — no separate reconciliation
- Integrated with Kinchaku pass issuance — one flow from booking to terminal payment to pass delivery
Why it’s PREMIUM-only
tance integration requires onboarding that’s not self-serve — bank relationships, merchant setup, and terminal provisioning involve your bank, your processor, and Kinchaku. The PREMIUM plan includes the guided setup.
Common workflows
- Hotel / ryokan with JP card acceptance at the counter — guest taps card at the tance terminal; Kinchaku records the payment against the booking and issues the pass on confirmation.
- F&B counter settlement for inbound tourism operators — tance terminal for local customers alongside Stripe for international cards, in the same workspace.
- Multi-property operators running JP and overseas venues — tance or Stera on JP-side workspaces, Stripe or Square on overseas workspaces; HQ switches between them from a single account.
tance or Stera?
Both are Japan-market POS-integrated payment terminals on the PREMIUM plan. The right choice depends on your existing bank and merchant relationships, your in-venue terminal hardware, and your finance workflow. Talk to sales and we will scope which one fits.
How to get started
tance is not activated during the trial. Talk to sales to scope your setup, or start free using Stripe or Square first and add tance at plan upgrade. You can also see Kinchaku listed on the tance marketplace.
