Payments
Stera
For operators who need Japan’s standard payment infrastructure natively integrated with their pass-based guest flow. Stera is available on the PREMIUM plan with dedicated onboarding.
Operators evaluating Japan-market terminals should also consider tance — a parallel POS-integrated option on the same PREMIUM plan.
What Stera does with Kinchaku
- JP-market card acceptance through the rail Japanese operators and consumers already use
- Settlement into standard Japanese banking workflows — no separate reconciliation
- Integrated with Kinchaku pass issuance — one flow from booking to payment to pass delivery
Why it’s PREMIUM-only
Stera integration requires onboarding that’s not self-serve — bank relationships, merchant setup, and terminal provisioning involve your bank, your processor, and Kinchaku. The PREMIUM plan includes the guided setup.
Common workflows
- Hotel / ryokan booking with JP payment method — guest pays via Stera at check-in or online; Kinchaku issues the pass on confirmation.
- F&B counter settlement for inbound tourism operators — Stera rail for local customers alongside Stripe for international cards, in the same workspace.
- Multi-property operators running JP and overseas venues — Stera on JP-side workspaces, Stripe or Square on overseas workspaces; HQ switches between them from a single account.
How to get started
Stera is not activated during the trial. Talk to sales to scope your setup, or start free using Stripe or Square first and add Stera at plan upgrade.
